Authorities say a Richmond man and a Fauquier woman each face three charges after they reportedly broke into a vacant northern Culpeper home and destroyed property.

Jeffery Metzger, 21, of South Stafford Ave., and Katherine Parker, 21, of the 13600 block of Silver Hill Lane in Sumerduck, were charged with breaking and entering to commit larceny, assault and battery or other felony; felony destruction; and entering a property to damage.

Sgt. Jim Fox said a neighbor called 911 after hearing a noise from a vacant home adjacent to his property in the 5000 block of Jeffersonton Road around 4 p.m.

That’s when the caller drove to the location where he found Metzger and Parker exiting the home.

Fox said the caller then “stalled the individuals from leaving,” until deputies arrived. According to authorities, no items were taken from the residence.

After Sgt. Curtis Hawkins, Cpl. Tom Buckley and Dep. Rick McKinley got to the scene, they began their investigation leading to the arrests.

Metzger and Parker were both given a $2,500 secured bond and scheduled to appear in Culpeper County General Court April 30 at 8:30 a.m.
