Two local men accused of embezzlement from a Brandy Station business have been cleared of felony charges, court records show.
Ashby S. Curtis, 43, of the 22000 block of Wilson Road and Thomas J. Haught, 18, of the 18000 block of Brandy Road, were both charged with felony embezzlement in connection with embezzling tires from Donald B. Rice Tire Co.
According to police, the charges stemmed from an incident in May involving tires valued at more than $300.
However, court records show that the felony charges were amended to misdemeanors.
Curtis was assessed $251 in costs for a charge of embezzlement of less than $200. Haught received a 90-day suspended sentence and a total of $626 in fines and costs for a charge of petit larceny.
