Three Culpeper teens will face charges in connection with a series of break-ins at Farmington Elementary School last month.

Culpeper Detective Marcus Taylor said the unidentified youths, all 15-year-old boys, will be charged with three counts of misdemeanor destruction of property.

In addition to the misdemeanor charges, town spokesman Wally Bunker said two of the boys will face further charges. One will face felony burglary and grand larceny charges, while the other will face felony burglary and petty larceny charges. Police say the incidents occurred between Aug. 6 and Aug. 12.

According to Wally Bunker, Taylor received a tip in late August about a possible suspect in the incidents at the school, which is located on Sunset Lane. The next day, another officer spotted two 15-year-olds on the school’s grounds.

Taylor said the teens and their parents cooperated with the investigation, leading to the identification of the third teen and the recovery of a laptop computer and a camera.
