Police have arrested three teens in connection with the March break in and theft from a Culpeper business.
Lt. Chris Settle said the teen males, ages 14, 15 and 16, were each charged with felony grand larceny and felony burglary. He said all three were released to the care of their parents.
During the March 13 incident, Settle said the three suspects went to the Westside Grocery Store at 519 Sperryville Pike around 12:30 a.m., then forced their way inside the business, which was closed, taking cartons of cigarettes and chewing tobacco.
Settle said a break in the case came days after the incident, when Detective Richard Brooking learned Culpeper County High School students were selling tobacco products on the school campus.

My guess is that unless they do something violent or extremelly harmful to themselves or others, then perhaps our judicial system mandates they be released to their parents/legal guardians?

Is it really a good idea to release these these kids to their parents? The parents obviously didn’t keep track of them while they were commiting this crime, what makes you think they will be able to do any better now.
