Two domestic violence fights over the weekend involved potentially deadly weapons of the slasher flick variety.

Two Culpeper County men face varying charges in the unrelated incidents involving a chainsaw and a Samurai sword.

There were no life-threatening injuries reported.

Around 11:10 p.m. Friday, Culpeper County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 23,000 block of Germanna Highway (route 3) for a report of a domestic assault.

Two brothers were fighting, said Culpeper County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Fox, and one allegedly attacked the other with a chainsaw.

It was unclear whether the chainsaw was turned on at the time, he said.

When the deputy arrived on scene, he was notified that the suspect had left on foot.

A Town Police K-9 team then located Donnie Justin White, 21, of Lignum at another residence on route 3 and the suspect was taken into custody.

White faces a Class Three felony charge of malicious wounding and one misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.

His brother sustained an injury to his arm in the fight and was transported to Culpeper Regional Hospital.

Fox said he had already bandaged his arm by the time deputies arrived.

White, in an unrelated case, was also served with 10 outstanding warrants from Charlottesville.

He is being held without bond in the Culpeper jail and is set to appear in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court July 8.

The second domestic violence incident occurred Saturday night around 9:45 p.m., Fox said.

Deputies responded to the 12,000 block of Eggbornsville Road for report of a domestic assault.

Deputies made contact with the suspect, on foot, while en route to the residence.

The male victim was on his way to the emergency room.

Gregory Paul Stanley Jr., 18, faces one misdemeanor count of assault on a family member in the incident, which started as a verbal argument, Sgt. Fox said.

The fight turned physical at which point Stanley allegedly struck the victim and threatened him with a Samurai sword.

Stanley was released on an unsecured bond pending his court date July 8 in juvenile and domestic relations court.
