Former Town Councilman David A. Martin will return to court May 22 to face two felony counts of embezzlement.
A March 13 court date was postponed when Martin’s attorney and longtime friend Cris Lindsay was unable to represent him further due to health issues.
Martin, who served on Culpeper Town Council from 1984 to 2000, was arrested Jan. 23 and re-leased later that day on $7,500 bond.
According to State Police, the charges are in connection with incidents that occurred in 2006 and involved two insurance agencies owned by Martin — D.A.M. Insurance on East Davis Street and Martin Insurance on Main Street, which closed early last year after 25 years in business.
State Police have not disclosed how much money Martin is accused of embezzling.

Public lynching continiues. Is there anything new here? NO!!! Why two weeks before the trial? I guess we will see another story a day before or week before the trial. Why so much publicity. This is almost as much as Ricky Gray and he is charged with murder.
