Culpeper County Circuit Court Judge John R. Cullen accepted another motion Monday from Stanley W. Deloach’s defense attorney to continue his client’s case to May 7 at 3 p.m. for arraignment.
Deloach, 48, a former Bedford County middle school teacher, faces 12 felony child pornography related charges stemming from an online chat last June when he reportedly e-mailed sexually explicit pictures and used the Internet to commit a crime against a minor.
Instead of chatting with a teen, Deloach held graphic online exchanges with an investigator posing as a teenaged girl.
He is being held without bond at Culpeper County Jail.
The case is here because the investigation originated with the Culpeper division of the State Police.
The joint venture included the Northern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Appomattox and Salem divisions of the Virginia State Police. The Culpeper County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, which includes the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, also took part in the investigation.

Why a continuance? Unfortunately, our system allows for too many of these - attys should be ready on court day or take fewer clients. Perhaps add another judge and court room? Things are too bogged down; especially with all the legal nonsense that can go on during a “performance” in court.
