An argument over the TV remote led Culpeper police to charge a couple with domestic assault Friday morning, the second time this month the couple has faced assault charges.

Sherry O’Sullivan, 36, of the 400 block of East Piedmont Street, faces a felony charge of domestic assault on her boyfriend, Daniel Rammel. O’Sullivan has two previous convictions for domestic assault. Rammel was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault on O’Sullivan.

Shortly after midnight Friday, Officer David Cole responded to a 911 hangup at the residence. Before he arrived, a neighbor called police and reported the two were hitting each other.

Rammel had cuts on his arm and lip, but O’Sullivan was gone when police arrived. Police located her several blocks away, and she claimed to have been choked by Rammel.

Rammel was held in jail in lieu of $2,000 bond. O’Sullivan was held without bond.

People this selfish and stupid need to spend a week in Iraq, amongst true poverty and hardship.  Do without the television and other electronics we take for granted.  How about no trees?  Sand everywhere.  Heat.  Lots of people.  The experience would teach some to appreciate what a wonderful life we really have here.
