Culpeper Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Culpeper boy Sunday morning for breaking and entering a Reva home and threatening the homeowner with a knife, according to Sheriff’s office spokesperson Sgt. Jim Fox.

A homeowner on the 5000 block of Riverbend Lane in Reva heard noises and found the Culpeper boy, 17, in his garage with the homeowner’s belongings in his hands.

After a brief struggle, the suspect allegedly pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened the homeowner before fleeing on foot. Deputy Chris Tash arrived on scene and with the assistance of his K-9, located the suspect at a nearby residence.

The suspect was identified and charged with breaking and entering to commit a felony, attempted malicious wounding, two counts of resisting arrest and obstruction of justice (all felonies) and carrying a concealed weapon, a misdemeanor. Juvenile probation detained the boy, who will appear in court Tuesday.
