Madison County Sheriff Erik Weaver said deputies have gained a lead into a meth lab investigation following the arrest of a Madison County man.
Weaver said the lead came after the Tuesday arrest of 36-year-old Harold David Dyer. He is suspected of manufacturing methamphetamine on his property. Police say that chemicals used to make the drug, including alcohol, matches, iodine and pseudoephedrine, a common ingredient in cold medicine, were found on the site.
Weaver said federal agents, the Blue Ridge Narcotics Task Force and deputies are continuing their investigation. Further details were not available.
If convicted of manufacturing methamphetamine, Dyer could face up to 10 years in prison, Weaver said.
