Sen. R. Edward “Edd” Houck has been appointed by the Senate Rules Committee to serve as its representative on the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission. He will be one of five senators to serve on this commission.
Established in 1973, JLARC serves as the oversight agency for the General Assembly. Specifically, its role is to evaluate the performances of state agencies and programs to make them more accountable, efficient and effective.
“I look forward to working my colleagues in the House and in the Senate as well as commission staff to review and to improve government performances to better serve the needs of the Commonwealth’s citizens,” Houck said.
Sen. Houck is currently serving his 25th year representing the 17th District in the State Senate. He is third in seniority, serving as chairman of the Senate Education and Health Committee and as one of four senators on the Budget Conference Committee.
