Mission Gratitude, an initiative sponsored by Mountain View Community Church in Culpeper, will offer AirFest visitors the opportunity to honor military members at Saturday’s free event.
From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., volunteers will facilitate the opportunity to write notes of encouragement and appreciation to deployed troops, along with those recovering from injuries at home.
Families of military personnel are also encouraged to bring a picture and the address of their loved ones to include on a wall of honor and prayer. The group will then send them a personal note of appreciation and a gift. All addresses will remain confidential and the messages will be shipped in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
