May 16-18
New Beginnings Worship Center: Evangelist Mark Shell returns to Culpeper May 16-18 for a three day conference entitled “Transitions, Getting Back To Normal.” Hosted by New Beginnings Worship Center, at 20175 Mt. May 17
Rising Zion Baptist Church, Winston will be making history on May 17 at 1 p.m. as we license Minister French Campbell and Minister Eugene Triplett to preach the Word of God. Pastor Herbert Cottoms will also be making history as he will have two sons in the ministry.
Culpeper Baptist Church’s Saturday night service, “Overflow,” will be held in the church sanctuary beginning at 6 p.m., and will feature contemporary worship with praise music led by Justin Harding and a time of fellowship. The Sunday morning contemporary service May 18, begins at 8:30 and a traditional worship begins at 11 a.m. Call the church office at 825-8192 for more information.
Cedar Grove Baptist Church announces it will be having a dinner and car wash at 26255 Rapidan Road (Buena), Rapidan May 17 from noon to 5 p.m. There will be fish and chicken dinners for $8 per meal including fish or chicken, two sides, choice of dessert and drink; $5 for sandwich including fish or chicken sandwich, one side, choice of dessert and drink. Sides will be green beans, potato salad, cole slaw; desserts are homemade carmel cake or sweet potato pie; soda/water $1 This is a building fund raiser for the church. Donations will be accepted. THE CABARET! You don’t want to miss our famous semi-annual Broadway show night in the fellowship hall at Culpeper United Methodist Church. Our presentation is “It’s Showtime,” song and dance from all the famous musicals, and will be held at 7 p.m. May 18. Come early and bid at the Mission Committee’s silent auction and purchase refreshments from the Cuba Team.

Culpeper United Methodist Church, Relay For Life Fundraiser Raffle: Two of our Relay For Life Teams headed up by Kim Thompson and Ella Jettmar are raffling off a framed cross-stitch poem titled “What Cancer Cannot Do.” The raffle will take place at the Relay For Life event on June 7. If you are interested in purchasing a raffle ticket, please contact Kim Thompson at 825-4725. The tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10.
The Women’s Auxiliary of the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association, Inc. will host a “Dollars for Scholars” revival beginning May 22 through May 24, 7:30 p.m. nightly at the Wayland Blue Ridge Center, 15044 Ryland Chapel Road., Rixeyville. The Evangelist for the revival will be international missonary and pastor, Rev. Dr. Carroll A. Baltimore Sr. of Evangelistic International Outreach Baptist Church based in Alexandria. Local church choirs will provide the music each night. Workshop from noon-5 p.m. led by Missy “Octavia” Yates and others. There is no fee for the workshop. Additionally, we invite you to a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to assist in revitalizing the youth deptartment which will begin at 5 to 7 p.m. Dinners are $6/person.
