A stroll through downtown Culpeper takes pedestrians by a string of bars and restaurants that come alive on the weekends. Whether you're a fan of live music or plentiful pitchers of beer, Culpeper doesn't disappoint in the small-town social arena.
At one end of East Davis Street is The Pub, located at the rear lower level of the Hazel River Inn Restaurant. Complete with a small stage and a mounted bison head, The Pub offers weekly live bands in a comfortable lodge setting.
Farther down is the East Davis Street Tavern with its charming horse-drawn carriage sign. A popular watering hole among Culpeper's locals, the Tavern also serves certified black angus beef and burgers.
Around the corner on East Cameron Street is Brandon's Place Irish Pub. Newly combined with his mom's Irish gift shop, Brandon's Place aims to transport its customers to Ireland with a pint, sports, traditional Irish music and Irish fare.
Culpeper's other weekend social avenues include the Lord Culpeper Bar and Grill on South Main Street, Pepper's Grill and Bar at the Best Western on Bus. 29 and Club XS, which recently hosted a comedy show, on Brandy Road.
So the next time you're planning on staying in on a Friday night, consider stepping out for some live music with friends and discover what Culpeper has to offer.
