The Culpeper Lady Ballers U12 team qualified for the 2008 Virginia Division II AAU U12 Girls Basketball tournament that will be held in Harrisonburg. Team members include: Shirlena Bowles, Tanae Holmes, Ciara Jackson, Tiara Jackson, Randii Mauck, Taylor Oden’hal, Tyesha Roy, Taylor Shanks, Jessica Shaw, Donjay Crawford. The Lady Ballers are coached by Dennis Holmes.

The Culpeper Lady Ballers, a U12 girls basketball team based out of the county, went to the Central Region Division II tournament last weekend at Post Oak Middle School in Spotsylvania and captured a berth into the Virginia state tournament later this month in Harrisonburg.
The Lady Ballers made it all the way to the regional championship game before taking second place in the tournament to qualify for states. The winner of the state tourney will advance to the 2008 AAU National U12 Tournament.
The Lady Ballers are made up of players from Culpeper and Floyd T. Binns middle schools and the roster includes: Shirlena Bowles, Floyd T. Binns; TaNae Holmes, Floyd T. Binns; Ciara Jackson, Culpeper Middle;Tiara Jackson, Culpeper Middle; Randii Mauck, Floyd T. Binns; Sierra Mills, Floyd T. Binns, Taylor Odend’hal, Floyd T. Binns; Taylor Shanks, Floyd T. Binns; Alexis Yates, Culpeper Middle.
The team is coached by Dennis Holmes.

As a teacher who has had all three of the CMS players on this team - Ciara, Tiara and Alexis - I just want to say Way to Go, Girls! Tear it up in Harrisonburg! CMS is proud of you and Culpeper should be proud of all of you.
