Pray for: Annemarie Steimel and the Academic Boosters Club

Birthplace: Manhasset, N.Y.

Education: Bachelor of Arts, Trinity College, Washington, D.C.
Family: husband, Bart and eight children- Kimberly (21) at the University of Virginia, Kevin (20) at Virginia Commonwealth University, Jillian (19) at James Madison University, Melissa (17), Victoria (16), Tommy (14) at CCHS, Elizabeth (10) and Caroline (8) at Emerald Hill.

Church: Precious Blood Catholic Church.

Community activities: Chairperson of the Academic Boosters Club-a volunteer organization that recognizes students' academic achievement through scholarships and the Academic Spotlight column in the newspaper, president of the CCHS PTSA, vice-chairwoman of the county Parks and Recreation Advisory that helps the Parks and Rec department meet the recreational needs of our county, vice-chairperson of the Parent Advisory for Gifted Education that discusses the needs of gifted students and works with school administrators to achieve student goals, on the board of the Culpeper Schools Foundation that raises funds for scholarships and school needs, member of Healthy Culpeper Prevention Coalition, served on the School Oversight Committee which advocated moving forward with a second high school, currently secretary on the Redistricting Committee that is setting the boundaries for the new schools, and serves on the transition team that is getting ready for the opening of the new high school and planning the groundbreaking ceremony for the new elementary school.
Hopes and dreams: "I hope to promote parents' involvement at the high school by keeping them informed and to help make Culpeper County's education the best in the state of Virginia. I believe all the time spent in meetings will help bring many parents and community members together to achieve this dream. I want to live in a place where everyone works towards success for all students. Great public schools give opportunities to all who are willing to work hard."

Prayer requests: "I ask for your prayers for my family. Please pray that our schools continue to serve our children and community as they grow. Pray that volunteers will continue to make the Academic Booster's Club an organization that encourages and inspires high academic achievement and provides scholarships to outstanding students. Please pray that I have the energy to continue my commitment to education and the community support to achieve my dream."
