It is that time of year again in Brandy Station, the time of the year to be making plans for the annual Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department fundraising carnival. This year's carnival will run from July 25 — 28. The fire department is once again looking for young ladies interested in representing the fire department as honorary fire chiefs. The honorary fire chief contest is broken down into two separate categories, the junior girls are from 8 to 14 years old and the senior ladies are from 15 — 21. The person who sells the most fundraising raffle tickets for the fire department determines the winners. Each young lady finishing the contest is awarded a percentage of the amount of tickets they sell. The two winners are crowned the senior and junior honorary fire chief and represent the fire department in area parades during the year. The crowning takes place during the carnival. FRIDAY
The Hispanic Committee of Culpeper will host Culpeper Fiesta at the downtown train depot on Friday, from 6 to 10 p.m. All Culpeper residents and neighbors are invited to come enjoy a taste of Latin culture, from music and dance to great food!
