Celebrate, remember, fight back. The Caring Hearts Against Cancer Relay for Life team is hosting a fundraising bake sale March 22 at 8 a.m. in front of Safeway in the Southgate shopping center. The team will also hold a yard sale at the REC Warehouse April 19 at 8 a.m.

One fish, two fish…
There may not be red or blue fish, but the Sumerduck Ruritan Club will have plenty of ocean perch to go around at its fish fry March 22. From 5 to 8 p.m. enjoy all-you-can-eat fried ocean perch, coleslaw, applesauce, cornbread, coffee, iced tea, hot dogs and chili dogs. $8 for adults, $3 for children. Call Jay at 439-8225.

Eggcellent events
Empty your fruit baskets and get ready for a sugar high. The Bealeton Community Easter Egg Hunt and Festival will be March 22 at 1 p.m. at the Bealeton Presbyterian/St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Activities include a magician, moon bounce, egg hunt for ages 3 to 10 (bring a basket or bag), face painting, craft making, balloon animals, games and refreshments. Contact Soul Purpose Church at 439-6098 or www.soulpurposechurch.org. In case of inclement weather, activities will move indoors.

Hop downtown for Easter shopping and exciting events all day March 22. Shop and enter to win a gift certificate from any one of more than 30 merchants with every purchase in any participating shop. No limit to number of entries. Winners will be notified March 25.

Look for the Spring Fling Eggstravaganza sign in participating businesses. Special kids activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Steven's Episcopal Church on East Street and music at 10 a.m. from "Hooked," Culpeper Baptist Church's music group. Join us at 11 a.m. for the Methodist Church Youth Group Satellite 21 and children's games at 1 p.m. by the Mosaic Group. Call 827-4185 or 540-9742.

High Tea
But with real tea, minus the stuffed animals. The Madison County Historical Society will hold a Spring Luncheon Tea March 26 at 12:30 p.m. at the historic Kemper Residence in Madison. There will be a special blend tea, accompanied by scones, tea breads, sweets, savories, fruits and other delicious treats from recipes used by Belle Kemper, wife of former Governor James Lawson Kemper.

Price is $18 and all proceeds are dedicated to the Kemper Residence, reservations required. Call 547-4398 and leave a message with your name, phone number and how many in your party.
