Valentine's delight: Gray Ghost Vineyards, which recently won two awards in the San Francisco Chronicle wine competition for its 2006 Reserve Chardonnay and 2006 Adieu dessert wine, is hosting a Valentine's Day-themed tasting Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy an array of chocolate desserts and Cabernet for $15 a person. Includes unlimited desserts, tastings of gold-medal reds and a Valentine glass. 14706 Lee Highway in Amissville; 937-4869.
Sake it to me: Take advantage of an opportunity to taste the flavors of Japan. Chateau du Reaux is hosting a Sake tasting with sushi tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. Jolie Okumura, a friend of Chateau's, will be on hand to answer questions about Japan's unique tastes.
Roses are red, violets are blue… read this new book and say "I love you." Warrenton author Susan Crites will be signing copies of her children's picture book, "I Love You More Than Rainbows" from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 16 at The Corner Shelf Bookstore. 451 James Madison Highway, Suite 104; 825-4411.
Rock and roll with the punches: Due to continued violence, all previously scheduled Culpeper Rock Academy shows at the In Motion Sports and Dance Complex in Warrenton have been canceled. Love 'em or hate 'em, the Rock Academy is still looking to rent a hall in Culpeper by the show to hold concerts. For up-to-date venue information, visit myspace.com/culpeperrocks. For more rock news, check out today's In & Around.
Cheers to you: Join Guinness lovers across the country tonight for the 16th Annual Great Guinness Toast at 11 p.m. at Brandon's Place. Sometimes known as "St. Practice Day," Guinness drinkers nationwide will try to break the record for the largest simultaneous toast. Brandon's is the only place in Culpeper to participate in the massive toast with the famous black and creamy brew. Visit brandonsplace.com or thegreatguinnesstoast.com.
