LAW AND OIL PAINTINGS: Commonwealth's Attorney Gary Close's artwork is on display at Raven's Nest Coffee House tonight from 5 to 7 p.m., with live jazz from Doug Schmidt. Close's oil paintings feature Culpeper landscapes in vibrant hues and are priced between $450 and $1,100. Come see the unveiling of his General Lee-inspired piece, "My Virginia April 1861." 254 E. SPOTLIGHT ON TEACHERS: Join CCHS faculty and staff in their first ever variety show Saturday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Acts include lip syncs, comedy sketches, juggling, solo singing, the CCHS drum line and well-rehearsed dance routines from faculty, administrators, cafeteria workers, custodians and secretaries. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and children. Proceeds benefit future CCHS
activities.
GROOVES 'N GRUB: Grab a "monster" sandwich tonight and catch a few tunes along the way. Groove Dog recording artist Buddy Parker will play a solo, one-hour acoustic set at 9 p.m. at The Stable. 129 E. Culpeper St., call 727-2007.

THAT'S THE TICKET: Will Charlie win the golden ticket this time- The St. Luke's Players from St. Luke's Lutheran School are performing "Wonka Jr." in the Intermediate School gymnasium tonight and Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for students and go on sale at 6:30 p.m.
