Culpeper rocks out at the American Legion Hall (Rt. 229) April 26 with Punk Ska Night featuring Winchester’s own Anatomic Bomb and Culpeper’s Society’s Trash, plus Signal 13 from 7 to 10:30 p.m., presented by Culpeper Concerts (formerly known as Culpeper Rock Academy).
For those of you looking for a “winner-takes-all brawl” of bands, mark your calendar for Culpeper’s Battle of the Bands May 3 at the American Legion Hall. Come root for your favorite band: Morgue Rats, Heck Veckling, Hasten My Demise, Haven of Darkness, Sindica, 4th Degree Burn, plus a special post-battle appearance by Revenent. Get ready to spend the day rockin’ at “A Taste of Music” festival of music and arts, presented by CCHS student Brett Jenkins. The festival will be April 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and will feature the CCHS step team and jazz band, JMU’s female a capella group The BluesTones, Christian band Hooked, Rude Buddha, CCHS senior band RATH, A.O.N., piano-led band The Ryan Benyo Experience, acoustic master Aubrey Driggers, local guru David Leckie Gilmore, all-female Culpeper rockers KRUSH, and The Possum Ridge String Band, as well as various art displays. Tickets are $10 and benefit Culpeper Band Boosters, Windmore Foundation for the Arts and Parent-Rock Organization. The festival will be held at Culpeper County High School. Call 219-5067.
You can always count on The Hazel River Pub to deliver a rockin’ weekend full of music. The Mixx will play April 11 with mixxed dance rock, Crown Vic performs classic rock and originals April 12, class rock power trio SMASH will play April 18, Mudlark plays April 19 with classic rock and blues with Bob Crerie, Street Legal will play ass-kickin’ reggae April 25 and The Eli Cook Band will play heavy metal blues April 26.
