R&B group Infinite Soul Band will bring the funk tonight.
The soulful eight-member en-semble will play at the Hazel River Pub in downtown Culpeper starting at 9:30.
Longtime band member George Glascoe promises an entertaining and unique show.
“A lot of local bands play classic cover tunes,” said Glascoe, who has also played traditional rock ‘n’ roll music. “But we’re doing straight up R&B. I think it’s better for us to concentrate on the R&B tunes.”
“We’re trying to bring a differ-ent element to local clubs,” Glas-coe added.
Glascoe says he’s looking for-ward to returning to The Pub.
“The atmosphere is nice and cozy,” he said. “And the home-town fans have been wanting us to come back and play again. It’s a nice and wholesome place.”
Although the band members change intermittently, the sound remains the same.
The band will reproduce clas-sic funk songs and the popular, rhythmic tunes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Ohio Players, Alicia Keys and Jill Scott. The Culpeper-based band got their start together during the summer of 2005.
